I was raised in Toledo, Ohio where I came to Christ at the Garden Park Church at age 16. Intending to become a missionary doctor he left high school to attend the University of Chicago. Taking a year off from Pre-med at Great Lakes Christian College I changed plans and decided to become a Professor. Having graduated summa cum laude from GLCC I received Masters degrees from Lincoln Christian Seminary (M.Div. 1984) and Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (Th.M., 1985). My wife and I, Cathy, then served as missionaries in Chester, England while I finished a Ph.D. in Hebrew Bible at the University of Sheffield (1991). From 1991-2004 I taught at Great Lakes Christian College as Professor of Christian Ministries (1991-1995), Professor of Old Testament and Biblical Languages (1995-2004) and Vice President of Academic Affairs (2000-2003). I have taught Bible and Practical Ministries in more than 30 countries and at 10 educational institutions. I served as a full-time minister for 13 years and as an interim in several churches. I helped to start and served as an elder at Meridian Christian Church in Okemos, Michigan. In 2005 we began working with TCMI Institute in Heiligenkreuz, Austria and reaching out to the entire former soviet bloc of countries. I have written four books, co-edited a 23 volume commentary series, and contributed numerous chapters, articles, and reviews in both academic and scholarly publications.
